The merchandising has begun! Today, vehicle toy company Jade Club confirmed via their news page that they have secured the license to make diecast and radio controlled vehicles for not only Jurassic World, but for the previous three films also.
"Jul. 31, 2014 – CITY OF INDUSTRY, CA – July 31, 2014 – Jada Toys, Inc., a leading manufacturer of boys and girls toys, today announced it has been granted the vehicle rights for two highly anticipated Universal Pictures’ films, Jurassic World and Fast & Furious 7, through a licensing agreement with Universal Partnerships & Licensing. Both films are slated for release worldwide in 2015.
“Jada is a perfect fit for both Jurassic World and Fast & Furious 7 because of our strength in producing high-quality die cast and radio controlled vehicles with innovative flair,” says May Li, President at Jada Toys. “We are excited to show off the products we have developed to compliment these action-packed movies.”
Jurassic World, the long-awaited next installment in the Jurassic Park series, is scheduled for theatrical release on June 12, 2015. Jada plans to develop highly-stylized radio control vehicles and collectable die cast for the movie as well as for the other films in the franchise, including Jurassic Park, Jurassic Park: The Lost World and Jurassic Park III."
The franchise has seen a lack of diecast vehicles previously, so it will be great to see what Jada are planning on releasing. We reached out for some more information with the company telling us they'll release some images as soon as they can! Be sure to follow their Twitter for more information.
Chris Pratt recently was a guest on the Empire Podcast in which he confirmed that there will also be Jurassic Park Lego! Chris Pratt recently voiced Emmet in The Lego Movie and has a Lego figure for both that and for Guardians of the Galaxy. When asked how many figures of him there are, he replied:
"three (…) I’ve just seen and approved the look for my character Owen from the Jurassic Park, er the Jurassic Park LEGO"
So there we have it! We'll see a return to the Jurassic franchise from Lego, and we stand to see some fantastic diecast and radio controlled vehicles from Jada Club! Now when will we start seeing this merchandise?
