Spoilers: Park and Dinosaur details for Jurassic World!
Posted by Jack DLM - Monday 19 May 2014 at 05:02PM - 28 Comments

As promised, JoBlo.com have released an exclusive look at the upcoming Jurassic World, leaking information about the park itself and the dinosaurs that are there. The writer stresses that the news isn't that much of a spoiler; it won't spoil the film for you, but it certainly reveals what's been hinted at for so long. If you do not want to be spoiled then do not read past this point.

As they state in the article, much of what they leak is more of an elaboration on what they previously revealed.

THE PARK
Building on our original scoop: JURASSIC WORLD will be a real running theme park, complete with a monorail (as teased in recent concept art above), shops, rides, and shows. It's the most popular theme park and a family destination. To get there you have to take a high speed shuttle boat from Florida. Inside the park there are a multitude of activities, including a Dino petting zoo and a Hologram info center where you can learn about the methods they are using to create dinosaurs (an enhanced version of the original one). One of the rides is called a "Gyrosphere" that you can get in and ride around in the wild to get up close to the Dinos.

RUNNING and SCREAMING
Business is good at the park, but the powers that be start to dream up new ways to keep customers coming back; namely by splicing Dino DNA with other dinos (and other species). That becomes the problem. They splice together a T-Rex, raptor, snake, and cuttlefish to create a monstrous new dino that, of course, gets loose and terrorizes the park. Nothing like a little greed and human arrogance to ruin a good thing, right? Dino expert Jack Horner has teased this bad boy since last year and now we have an idea why he says we'll want to "keep the lights on" after seeing it. He may be right.

GOOD DINO vs. BAD DINO
According to our source, there will be lots of Dino on Dino fighting, as some of the Dinos are "good guys" that are trained by Chris Pratt's character. The raptors and T-Rex are among the "trained" good dinosaurs. The big bad dinosaur has instant camouflage abilities, like the cuttlefish, so he blends into the background, is smart like the velociraptor, uses his jaw like a snake, and can terrorize like the T-Rex. Does this mean the new dino will be the ONLY "bad" one? Or will there be more than one? Unconfirmed, but it will be the catalyst that kicks off the peril.

As expected, Jurassic World is huge and known worldwide as being a family attraction/theme park. It's incredibly interesting to note that visitors get to the island via a ferry from Florida... what does that mean? Have the islands moved from the Pacific to the Atlantic?

The splicing of dinosaur DNA has been a concept that's floated in and out of Jurassic Park 4 scripts since the first draft was turned in by John Sayles, all those years ago. It seems that was something they really wanted to keep, personally I am not sure what I think about it. But, it's confirmed that the new dinosaur is a work of fiction.

The other thing they reported, is that there will be dinosaurs fighting dinosaurs, which is great, but there will also be "trained" dinosaurs, which is also a concept that was in the original John Sayles draft in 2004. What do you think of that idea? Let us know in the comments section below!

Don't forget to check out our podcast where we discuss the island that is Isla Nublar! And don't forget to let us know what you think of these spoilers - is this what you want for Jurassic World? Thanks to JoBlo for the news!

Pretty much exactly what I would expect from a full functioning Jurassic World theme park.

1. Experimenting with dinosaur DNA...check!

2. Attempting to tame dinosaurs in whatever was possible to create stunning dinosaur shows....check!

3. Going wrong in the end....check!

If you had any illusions of this movie being different, I pity you. This is what everything has been gravitating towards.

Of course, all the little children reading this are completely misinterpreting it, and making it into something that its not. But that is to be expected from little children.

Looking at the map...where is/are the hotels? A park with golf course, all the shows and rides... and hotel?....

Please tell me this is fake.. Trevorrow knows the fans of this film (at least he has stated he really wants to follow the dna of the first film and knows what the fans expect) But this hybrid/trained dino stuff... come onnnnn!! I actually remember him discounting the trained dinos rumor so I don't know about this one.

Pity that the idea goes beyond the comfort zone of many JP fans because, if handled with care, it could actually be something that Michael Crichton could have tackled in a book had he made other ones. Most of us are spoiled with Chaos Effect, obviously, but it wouldn't necessarily need to be a bad thing.

Again, it's a shame that it goes beyond everyone's comfort zone but maybe, just maybe, we should give this idea a chance. Sure, it could blow in the end but what do we have to lose at this point? The magic in the previous movies is in the past that we can relive by watching them, it's not like a new movie can completely destroy that. King Kong has had several remakes(bad ones at that) yet does that change the original? Nope.

I really start to think the excitement i had for this movie was a whole waste of time. Yeah sure it's a dream plot for any child aged 4 or 6 but this movie is for mature viewers and not childish children. I even made a wikia for Jurassic World and a facebook page. Please tell me this is a joke or i will sue the studio for letting this happen!!

What???

There is no way.
This sounds like a cheesy made up rumor. They have HUNDREDS of Dinosaurs to choose from and they make one up?

Not buying this. No one would think this is a good idea.

The whole "Florida" thing makes me think this is a hoax.

a mash up clone? of radically different species? geez... sounds like an asylum kind of movie (sharktopus etc), only those are made to be bad.

i could live with the camo thing, after all it's an original (if somehow weird) idea mentioned by crichton in the lost world book. (it was a carnotaurus or something back then...)

i'm not too excited about this dino vs. dino trope, but then again i am among the few that didn't like spino vs. rex in jp3.

well, they gotta be good on the rest.

Remember everyone, the movie's not out yet. Wait until we see the trailer before declaring that you won't like this movie. For all we know, this could be from a previous script or the actual movie could differ from this. I could see how splicing dinosaur DNA could work, perhaps they won't go as far as you guys think.

No way. No chance. This has rumor written all over it or it's a clever decoy to fool the internet. Sounds way too ridiculous.
